All the things I got in December and January!

I did quite well at Christmas and got lots of stuff I actually wanted! All good! I also did a fair bit of shopping whilst in America and a little bit when I got home in the January sales (which were pretty naff to be honest!)

I got this kit at the Hobby Lobby in Alabama - it was super easy to make!

I had wanted this duvet cover from Ikea for ages and finally got it for my birthday from my boyfriend! I like to sleep with my head in the clouds...

L-R: Iron on transfers from Brighton, Badges in the sale from Accessorize, stickers in the sale from Accessorize.

Cushion from Accessorize (in the sale)

Left: iron on embroidery designs from Hobby Lobby, right- embroidery book from my boyfriend via Amazon and at the bottom is my first ever attempt at cross stitch!

Beautiful sewing box from my boyfriends parents.

Inside the sewing box.

Fisheye camera from the Urban Outfitters sale.

Abercrombie pj bottoms and hoody from the Abercrombie sale.

Crystal rings from River Island, bobble ring from Museum of Art, Alabama, earrings from my Great Aunt (handmade) and bracelet from my mum.

Christmas present from my mum.

Perfume and moisturiser from my mum, nail polish pens from Alabama.

Sock dog that I made my friend for Christmas.

All made by me except the rainbow stripe one (Ebay) and the navy blue one (Gap)

Candy and cereal from Alabama!
Quite a lot of stuff huh? Finding places for it all in my house is proving difficult....Anwayz, Glee has just started so I have to go now! Photos coming up include my leopard print nails and a slightly messy vodka fuelled night out....

Not enough hours in the day...

Ok, ok. So I know I said I would blog on the weekend but then I had to make birthday cupcakes, go out and get drunk on vodka and then sleep most of the next day away. So then there wasn't time!
I'm only going to post a selection of my photos as most of the people reading this will already have seen them on Facebook....
Let's start with the holiday in Alabama!

There were 16 members of my family for dinner! Bit of a squash..

A whole town made of gingerbread houses!

My cousins are all creative types so they decided to have a photo shoot on the cliff edge...

Discovered that my camera has loads of funky settings..

Could be  a worse photo I suppose!

A photograph from the Alabama Museum of Art (it's a tree after a tornado had hit..)

My cousin will kill me for this...(in the background you can watch the doughnuts being made!)

We went to the Davidson Space Centre

I'm really missing the blue skies and sunshine!

Bizarre looking plant at the botanical gardens.

Well, I think that was a random enough selection of my holiday photos! I had an awesome time except for the plane journeys to and from America which were hideously long....I got to watch some new films on the way back though so it wasn't all bad!
I'm going to start saving for my next holiday now...

Wait for it!!!

I promise that I will put up all my holiday pictures tomorrow! I'm still a bit jetlagged at the moment....
Here is a quick picture of the camera I bought in Urban Outfitters in Alabama:

I have a better picture of it....I managed to get it for 16$ which is about a third of the price I would have paid in the UK! Cant wait to try it....

Case of the flu...

Still feeling ill and off work today so I thought I'd make the most of my time on the sofa! I've been checking out some of the online sales that have started pre-Christmas but haven't really found much worth buying...

I've found these denim hotpants at River Island:

They're now £20 down from £39.99. Great for wearing with tights and boots but not exactly a bargain.
Next up, also from River Island is these shoes that are only available in size 5. My size!

£30 down from £74.99. This is the sort of thing that I would buy but never find the time to wear.
And that's about it. Most sales don't start until Boxing Day and I won't be here then! Hopefully I will be on a plane to Alabama... I hope I get a chance to do a little bit of shopping whilst I'm there. Top of my list is some Lucky Charms cereal! I never really buy much in the sales anyway, so I'm sure it won't be a huge loss to not be trailing around West Quay shopping centre with millions of grumpy shoppers!

I might not be back now until the New Year.....So Happy New Years everyone!

Xmas Crafting!

Been a bit busy the last few days with working and Christmas present buying. The only present I have made myself this year is for my baby sister, Chiara. As I had bought the iron on Sukie transfers I decided to make her some personalised sleep suits. And here they are:

It wasnt' too hard to do with a little practice....the small letters on the white one didn't work too well as there wasn't much paper to get hold of when you are pulling the backing off. All in all, I was impressed and am now planning to decorate all sorts of t-shirts and things!

Christmas has just about arrived in our house with the tree going up. It's lovely and tacky and crafty with felt decorations from Accessorize and some collected ornaments such as our Disney Mickey Mouse ears from Disneyland Paris.

A week or so ago when it was snowing, I treated myself to a new hat. It's actually a kids hat (small head!) by Barts and I bought it at work on discount. Cute? I thought so...

You can just about see the collar of my aviator jacket! Cosy. The rest of the week will be spent preparing for the work Xmas party. Photos to follow....if they are suitable for viewing!

Is there anybody out there?

Wow, I'm so excited to have my first non-family/friend related follower! Thank you to Nail Daze! www.naildaze.blogspot.com  I hope she doesn't mind me posting her link...
This brings me to wonder if there is anyone out there who isn't one of my friends who has been reading my blog? Are you out there? I thought a good way to bring people out of the woodwork is to have a question and answer session! Is there anything you want to know about me? Post me a question in my comments box and I'll try and give an honest answer! I haven't had any comments yet so I don't know how easy it is for you to comment....if you have any difficulties, email me at girlfrommars79@hotmail.com and I'll keep a look out.
If any of my friends have any questions then I guess that's ok too! And because no good post is complete without a picture....

I bought a couple of shirts today from Hollister that were only £10.90 in the sale and this is the closest pic I can find of what they look like. You know the type. X
